Local Tree Surgeons in Altrincham, Ready to Quote

Altrincham, Sale and Timperley sit in some of the greenest suburbs in Greater Manchester. Between Victorian villas in Bowdon and Hale, the long gardens of Timperley and Sale, the Bridgewater Canal and the parkland around Dunham Massey, there are a lot of mature oaks, beeches, limes and sycamores to look after, plus plenty of leylandii and laurel hedges.

We take enquiries from across Trafford, from Altrincham, Timperley and Hale to Sale, Urmston and Stretford, and out to Partington and Lymm on the Cheshire border, and pass them to qualified, insured tree surgery teams who work locally. Whether you need a hedge cut, a crown reduction or a storm-damaged tree made safe, you get a clear written quote and a tidy job.

Altrincham, Bowdon, Hale and Ashton upon Mersey all have conservation areas, and many trees across the borough have tree preservation orders, so we always check the rules before work starts and help with any council application.

★★★★★
Seb and his team were incredible start to finish. Really professional when scoping out the job and talking through options. Communication throughout was great. They were punctual on the day and just got on with the work brilliantly. Tidied up well and left the garden in great condition before leaving. Would 100% recommend and will be using again!

We hired Seb and his team to take down a tree in our garden and shape our overgrown border hedge. They were polite, punctual, and highly professional throughout. They tidied up everything before leaving, to the point that our garden looked like nothing had happened.

[The team] were absolutely phenomenal! Seb and his team were the complete package, professional, punctual, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. They also left everything spotless once the work was complete, it was honestly like they were never there!

Tree Surgery Questions, Answered

Do I need permission to cut down a tree in Altrincham?

Not always, but you must check first. A tree with a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) needs written consent from your local council before you cut, prune or remove it, and most trees in a conservation area need six weeks' written notice. Dead trees and trees that are an immediate danger have their own exemptions, but you should still tell the council. Breaking these rules can lead to an unlimited fine. We check this for you before any work starts.

How much does tree surgery cost?

It depends on the size and species of the tree, how easy it is to reach, how much needs doing and what you want done with the waste. We give a clear written quote after seeing the tree or from photos for simple jobs, and the price you are quoted is the price you pay.

Are your tree surgeons qualified and insured?

Yes. The teams we work with hold NPTC certificates (the recognised national qualification for chainsaw and tree work at height) and carry public liability insurance. Ask for details when you receive your quote.

Do you clear everything away afterwards?

Yes. Branches are chipped, timber is cut up and either left for you or removed, and the area is swept. We can also grind out stumps on the same visit.

Can I have my hedge or trees cut in nesting season?

Birds nest from roughly March to August, and it is an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 to disturb an active nest. We check for nests before we cut and will tell you if work needs to wait. Dangerous trees are treated differently, because safety comes first.

How quickly can I get a quote?
